I was in the same forms as R.A Buchanan,G Mayo, and Peter Mills. In fact some of us go back even further, R.A.Buchanan and I were in the top class at Abbey Lane County School as it was in 1940-1.My outstanding memory is of Mr Bolton and the weekend maths homework in 4A. Come Monday lunch time because of double maths after lunch there was a great scramble to copy and memorise the answers.Mr Bolton's method was to pick a boy at random to set out the answer on the blackboard, falter and it was detention.I must have had a very good memory I never got detained.
Another memory is of Alf Ridler often saying "some of us sits and thinks and some of us just sits"
I ended up as a medical student in Sheffield then worked as a GP there for ten years and finally came here to
Nottingham for the next twenty five.Happily retired since 1988.
